Collateral Specialist (Temporary)

The Collateral Specialist ensures the accurate tracking, reconciliation, securitization, imaging, and reporting of collateral assets. Engages with management on any trends and escalations involving internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring the leadership team is informed of any concerns or potential adverse actions from partners or investors.

Postion Location: In Office: 4201 Marsh Lane, Carrollton, TX 

Position Details: Contract

What you will do:

• Prepare required collateral documents to clear the loan from Document Custodian/Warehouse Bank.
• Receives closing packages from the courier(s).
• Assists with the daily packaging and shipment of the collateral package at the end of the business day.
• Review collateral documents for accuracy and request corrections to documents as needed.
• Ensure proper control of documents in both hard copy and electronic formats.
• Updates system of record to ensure accurate data entry and upload of document repository
• Reviews identified document deficiencies for content and accuracy, utilizing skill sets (industry and program knowledge, problem-solving) to determine the best path to resolution for file drying.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with internal teams and external partners.
• Provide updates and information promptly as requested.
• Clean, operate, and maintain scanning equipment to accurately and efficiently digitize physical documents.
• Review scanned documents to ensure clarity, completeness, and proper alignment. Rescan the documents as necessary to meet quality standards.
• Identify and resolve issues with scanning equipment and software. Report persistent problems to IT or maintenance teams.
• Maintain logs of errors, scanned documents, and completed tasks. Generate scanning activity reports as needed, escalating issues to the Manager.
• Assist other departments with locating and retrieving electronic documents. Provide general administrative support as required.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining the file room. Ensure physical documents are properly and accurately filed, stored, and easily accessible.
• Reports any mechanical issues immediately to the Lead or Manager.
• Uploads Scan Logs at the end of the shift.

What we are looking for: 

• 3+ years related experience.
• Previous Post-Closing experience, preferred.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage loan documents and related required documentation.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of warehouse bank and investor guidelines.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of the life of a loan after funding.

Position requirements:

• Ability to life and move files up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
