The Texas Materials & Process department centers on development and production support of assembly methods, materials, and processes for current and next generation microwave products, with a very heavy emphasis on cutting-edge automation and materials. You will work closely with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, tooling engineers, industrial engineers, and operations leaders on product manufacturing. Team responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis. Evaluation of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) will be required including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
What You Will Do:
Supporting current high-volume, high-mix production with on-site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems. Factory production execution support includes developing and implementing well-controlled processes using data-driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and writing shop process documentation.
Ensuring processes developed and executed meet product quality requirements (J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, IPC, etc.)
Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through leveraging new technologies, investigating and qualifying new materials, and more
Capital equipment down-selection and integration to meet current and future business needs
Perform maintenance on electronic and mechanical coating equipment.
Understand system features and capabilities; to enable you to promptly assess and diagnose problems and develop solutions as required.
Effective cross-functional communication of technical information.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on industry experience in product development and manufacturing.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
Current U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance within one year of employment.
U.S Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Able to work with a multi-disciplined engineering team in resolving technical issues and investigation thereof.
An understanding of, and ability to use, modern test and measurement equipment
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for 6+ hours a day
Experience working with production support in a factory environment.
Self-motivated, proactive, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Experience performing root cause analysis and correcting defects.
Knowledge of material test and failure analysis disciplines.
Process development and qualification experience
J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, and IPC standards familiarity
Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical data analysis experience, Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques
Technical writing experience for operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, equipment vendor statement of works, etc.
Previous understanding and knowledge of vacuum systems.
