About the role

We currently have a career opportunity for a Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team located in St. Louis. This would be a hybrid schedule, onsite 3 days a week. (*may be open to other locations)

 

Job Overview: 
 

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and integration of company infrastructure related to cloud-hosted environments, primarily within Microsoft Azure but experience with AWS and GCP is a welcomed addition. This individual will help implement infrastructure policies and drive compliance with applicable external/internal security audit requirements.

In addition to working closely with IT team members, this role involves hands-on daily interaction with various business units to assist in providing solutions that support Perficient’s customers.

•Analyze problems and recommend cloud-based solutions, products, and technologies to meet business objectives
•Design cloud-native architectures that support AI workloads, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
•Actively protect company IT assets, infrastructure, and data from external or internal threats
•Perform analysis of cloud infrastructure software and service needs
•Assist with automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for Azure environments
•Develop/maintain a multi-tenant environments segmenting client facing systems from internal systems
•Working knowledge of Agentic LLMs and connectivity between enterprise applications
•Implement role-based access control, encryption, and secure APIs.
•Troubleshoot and remediate cloud infrastructure issues
•Assist in configuration and maintenance of Azure firewalls, NSGs, and other security controls
•Participate in incident response for any breach, intrusion, or data theft
•Monitor Azure systems for anomalies, ensure proper maintenance and patch compliance
•Maintain system documentation and configuration for regulatory and audit purposes
•Coach and guide client services in cloud security incident response and escalation
•Escalated tier 3 support for cloud infrastructure-related systems
•Take ownership of customer issues and follow problems through to resolution
•Develop and maintain service procedures, policies, and standards

•Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited university required
•Azure certifications preferred (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305)
•2+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure administration and support.
•Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution. 
•Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms is a plus. 
•A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations including ethical considerations is expected. 
•Demonstrated understanding of cloud security concepts and infrastructure management practices
•Proven ability to translate functional or regulatory requirements into technical cloud solutions
•1+ years of experience with Azure infrastructure services (VMs, Storage, Networking, Entra ID, etc.)
•Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform
•Proven ability to manage projects in a self-directed manner
•Strong knowledge of ITIL preferred

Working Conditions:
•Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
•Substantial time is spent working on a computer
•Light physical effort required, including handling objects up to 10 pounds
•Environment can be demanding and fast-paced
•Work schedule is generally 40 hours per week, but may exceed based on goals and demands
