Primary Purpose 

Individuals within the Junior Cloud System Administrator role are responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers, and networks. They will maintain and contribute to the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, problems, and providing assistance to other teams as necessary. Systems Administrators maintain Server Operating Systems, Patching, Performance, and Cloud environments as well as related utilities and hardware. 

 

Major Functions/Responsibility 

  • Maintain, monitor, and support a production infrastructure environment 
  • Supports multiple systems or applications of medium to high complexity 
  • Follows defined procedures to monitor systems and resolve issues 
  • Analyzes and reports on operational metrics to understand performance and ensure success in process improvements 
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups, patching, application versions, etc. 
  • Manage Mail, DNS, FTP, IIS, and Application environments 
  • Set up and maintain server system and file security 
  • Maintain documentation of servers and related infrastructure equipment 
  • Participate in the On-Call rotation 
  • Communicates events to stakeholders, teams, and leadership 
  • Work with cabling, racking, and other tasks in Physical Data Centers (Some Travel May Be Required) 
  • Create user accounts 
  • Updating Production Server Resources and Sizing 
  • Follow the company Code of Ethics and CXone policies and procedures at all times 

Education Requirement: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience required 

Experience Requirement: 

  • Windows Server Operating System 
  • Microsoft OS Patching and Critical Updates 
  • Intermediate Level of System Troubleshooting Skills  
  • 2+ years working in a medium to large production infrastructure 
  • 2+ years in Windows Server Administration in a Production Environment 
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Windows Domains, Active Directory, DNS, Mail 
  • Experience with administration of a VMware environment 
  • Experience working with Hardware Replacements/Vendor Work 

Bonus Experience: 

  • Experience working in a PCI / FedRAMP compliant environment 
  • Experience working with Change Management 
  • Experience managing HP branded servers 
  • Experience managing Cisco UCS 
  • Linux administration 
  • Experience monitoring and maintaining AWS environments. 
  • Experience monitoring and maintaining Azure environments.
