We are seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team in a cloud-first, DevOps-driven environment. If you're ready to take on a dynamic role, here's what you'll be doing:
Your Responsibilities:
Systems Installation and Maintenance: Handle system installation, integration, administration, upgrades, maintenance, and custom configurations.
Automation and Deployment: Automate, build, deploy, and release code across different environments.
Cloud Infrastructure Automation: Work with AWS, Terraform, OpenStack, Jenkins, Linux, Docker containers, and more.
Collaboration: Partner with the Library Systems team on best practices, industry trends, and reducing technical debt.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with CUL-IT staff, including development teams and managers, to understand their projects and business needs and implement supportable solution architectures.
Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle of Library servers, applications, and databases.
Cloud Migration Support: Aid in the migration to cloud infrastructure and the development of new cloud services using best practices.
Standardized Deployment: Deploy applications using the team’s configuration management tools.
On-Call Support: Participate in periodic on-call shifts within the Library Systems team.
Documentation: Maintain documentation to support the operational management of applications and servers.

This position may be performed at a remote location within the Continental United States, Alaska or Hawaii. The specifics of this arrangement will be reviewed with you when you begin the position, and the University must approve of the desired remote work location. Required Qualifications:
Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and well-being.

Bachelor's degree, preferably in an information technology field, or three to five years experience in software systems maintenance, support, security, and design; in-depth use of information systems technology;
Skilled with Linux system administration including maintenance and monitoring of web servers, databases, and applications.
Knowledge of shell scripting and one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Go etc.
Knowledge of IT security best practices and basic understanding of networking
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience with technical requirements analysis and IT project implementation.
Experience with cloud hosting (preferably Amazon Web Services)

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Library IT systems in a higher-education environment
Issue-tracking software like JIRA
Solr
Continuous integration/delivery and infrastructure-as-code tools
