What does a successful Cloud Platform Engineering Intern do?
- A successful Cloud Platform Engineering Intern works closely with experienced cloud, platform, and site reliability engineers to help build, automate, and operate modern cloud platforms. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, and reliability engineering practices, helping you develop a strong foundation in cloud-native engineering and platform operations within an enterprise environment.
What you will do:
- Assist in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on public cloud platforms.
- Support the development and enhancement of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for application and platform teams.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on infrastructure-as-code, automation, and platform tooling initiatives.
- Participate in reliability, availability, and performance-related engineering tasks aligned with SRE practices.
- Help implement and maintain observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Contribute to documentation of cloud platforms, pipelines, and operational processes.
- Provide ideas and recommendations to improve automation, scalability, and reliability of cloud platforms.
What you will need to have:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2028 in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or other related technology disciplines.
- 3.0+ GPA.
- Applicants must have unrestricted work authorization and should not require future sponsorship.
- 0–2 years of professional work experience.
- What would be great to have:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Basic knowledge of Linux, networking, and operating system fundamentals.
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or configuration tools such as Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (Git-based tools).
- Interest or introductory knowledge in containers (Docker), Kubernetes, or cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with monitoring or observability tools (metrics, logs, alerts).
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to changing priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
