Cloud Modernization Storage Engineer (TS/SCI CI Poly Required)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Modernization Storage Engineer to lead and support the transformation of our cloud infrastructure, with a focus on storage architecture and optimization. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud storage solutions, data migration, and modernization strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud storage environments. TS/SCI with CI Poly required, this position is located in Charlottesville, VA and will provide relocation assistance.

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Storage Architecture: Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage) that align with organizational needs.
• Modernization Strategy: Lead efforts to modernize on-premises storage systems by migrating to cloud-based storage platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration strategies, including moving data from legacy storage systems to modern cloud infrastructures, using best practices for data integrity and security.
• Optimization & Performance: Continuously monitor and optimize cloud storage performance, ensuring cost-effective and efficient use of resources.
• Storage Security: Implement and manage security protocols and data protection measures in cloud storage systems, including encryption and access controls.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and manage cloud-based backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
• Automation & Scripting: Create automated solutions for cloud storage management tasks using scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, security, and cloud engineering teams to integrate storage solutions into cloud applications and services.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and policies.
