Job Summary
Assists lead, Masters Level Therapists at The Children's Center on the Hattiesburg Campus in the classroom setting with therapy including preparing materials and setting up activities, managing child safety and order in the room and cleaning and disinfecting. Organizing and maintaining shared materials and equipment and supporting operational needs of the program including participating in fundraising endeavors as requested.

Primary Job Duties

1. Provides intervention support for infant to preschool-aged children with moderate-severe communication and developmental disabilities in a classroom settings while working with multiple disciplines and supporting families.
2. Assists with all classroom duties under the supervision of a Masters-level therapist, including managing and maintaining safety of children, creating, setting up, and breaking down developmentally appropriate activities, cleaning and disinfecting therapy materials, and assisting with self-help skills such as feeding and toileting.
3. Maintaining shared spaces and storage with classroom materials and specialized equipment.
4. Participates in fundraising and awareness activities to bolster support for The Center community and statewide.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university OR 2 years experience equivalent in early childhood or related field. Experience should be specific to working with young children and/or children with disabilities.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Must hold or be willing to acquire CPR Certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to physically transition up and down from the floor and lift children (20-40 pounds) safely to assist with daily skills and safety in the classroom (i.e., toileting, feeding, dressing, walking, communicating). Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to effectively share information and respond to questions from supervisors, staff members, caregivers, and the public.
• Knowledge of all Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with Adobe pdf and have the ability to use various tools for organization and general operational needs of the program.
