Clinical Trainer - Primary Care

Nemours is seeking a Clinical Trainer (Primary Care – Lake Nona Town Center Office), FULL-TIME, to join our Primary Care team in Orlando, Florida.

Nemours primary care practices provide a kid-friendly, family-centered pediatric primary care experience for families in Central Florida. With 20 primary care and three urgent care practices conveniently located throughout the region, we provide quality, professional pediatric services with special attention on preventive care and whole-child wellness.

The clinical trainer is responsible for delivery of training to the clinical team, identifying training needs, assessing competencies, and creating training content in a manner that supports Nemours Children’s Health’s mission, vision and core values of delivering high quality pediatric care. The clinical trainer will assist in the development and designing of training solutions, while leveraging different teaching modalities.  

The position is responsible for the following:

• The Clinical Trainer will deliver EMR training, conduct initial assessments and performance checks for all clinical staff.
• Supports Clinical Operations with the training and assessment of all new clinical associates and participates the 30, 60 and 90-day evaluation.
• Develops training plan for all new clinical associates.
• The Clinical Trainer is a critical member of the team that must maintain detailed and organized training records and ensure appropriate escalation and resolution in a timely manner to encourage success of clinical associates.
• Develops and maintains educational and training material.
• Contributes to policy development.
• Develops and implements tools, training, reliable methods for new clinical procedures, labs and services.
• Maintains working knowledge of all clinical equipment.
• Assists in maintaining a safe environment while meeting OSHA, CLIA, VFC, AAAHC and other regulatory requirements.
• Participates in, or takes lead on, quality improvement and implementation projects.
• Leads annual skills assessment program for the primary care division. Completes annual competency assessment of all clinical associates.
• Conducts regular visits to CHAs offices to assure on going quality clinical performance and compliance with policies and procedures through audits and observation.
• Models’ high performance and serves as a clinical resource for all CHA locations.
• Maintains professional practice knowledge base, standards of care and expertise with all procedures and labs done in CHA offices.
• Works in a non-training clinical capacity as needed/directed to maintain a high level of patient care.

Job Requirements 

• Associate (2 years of training beyond high school, e.g. Associate's degree) required.  
• Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school) required.
• Licensed LPN or RN preferred.  MA with 3 years pediatric experience will be considered.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Travel required to all Primary Care locations as needed.
