Tempus is seeking a highly qualified advanced-degree Graduate Summer Associate to work with us for the summer of 2023. We are looking for people who can change the world.

As a Summer Intern at Tempus, you will:

  • Apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to on-the-job experiences
  • Work on comprehensive, value-added project(s) that help enhance the fields of science and technology 
  • Collaborate with teams/colleagues in a fast-paced environment 
  • Gain professional development & build relationships with peers from across the country 

Anticipated Summer Project(s):

  • Identify Tempus Studies Growth Opportunities: Deep dive into the state of play of innovative clinical trials, looking to identify potential capabilities Studies could bring in, and lay out a plan for bringing a v1 to customers
  • Clinical Study Operational Improvement: Work with Tempus Clinical Studies Managers to identify 1-3 pain points across the Tempus studies portfolio, prototype a solution, and iterate with in-study feedback
  • Tempus Studies Proposals: Ride along with the Tempus commercial team completing primary research, putting together models and proposals, and building tools to make the commercial process better
  • Studies Summit: Support planning, development, and execution of a large cross functional “Summit” - bringing together groups across Tempus for brainstorming, problem solving, and awareness to the Studies portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Master’s, MBA, or Ph.D. (advanced degree graduation between winter of 2023 and summer of 2024)
  • Degree in an analytical or healthcare related field strongly preferred
  • Passionate about understanding the scientific and operational problems our customers face and developing novel strategies for developing studies to address these
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and translate them into concrete ideas and  action plans
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to tackle problems logically; a data-driven approach to decision making and sound business judgment to determine project performance and financial viability
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with others in a fast-paced environment is critical. Be ready to fly the plane as you’re still building it!

Additional Details:

  • You will spend 8 or 10 weeks working in our Chicago office.
    • The internship will be a hybrid, onsite 3 days/week with the option to work remotely the remaining days.
  • The program will run in two waves, commencing June/July and running through August/September (dependent upon your school calendar and availability).
