Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Psychiatry has an available Research Services Clinical Sciences Professional position in the Division of Addiction Science, Prevention, and Treatment. This position will support research projects in the Cannabis, Health, and Addiction Over the lifeSpan (CHAOS) lab (PI: Kent Hutchison, PhD). Our research is focused on understanding how cannabinoids like CBD and THC influence the endocannabinoid system which in turn influences the immune system and the brain. The CHAOS lab has current clinical trials investigating the effects of Cannabidiol (CBD) in varying subject populations, which include individuals with Alcohol Use Disorder and those at risk for Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Hutchison also serves as the director of the Rocky Mountain Cannabis Research Center (RM-CRC), a National Institute for Drug Abuse Center for Excellence at the University of Colorado. The mission of the RM-CRC is to accelerate research on the risks and benefits of cannabis and cannabinoids. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of clinical trials.
  • Aid in the collection and processing of biological samples and data.
  • Research visit coordination and conduct.
  • Lead participant recruitment, communication, and scheduling.
  • Perform data entry and quality assurance reviews on study databases.
  • Assist lab manager with regulatory maintenance of assigned clinical trials (IRB and FDA initial submissions, amendments, continuing reviews).

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
