The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Clinical Program Coordinator to work on the UHealth Campus. The Clinical Program Coordinator assists in the development, organization, production, and evaluation of a variety of health promotion and educational program offerings for patients in the assigned unit. Moreover, this employee provides general oversight to daily program activities in support of the University’s mission. The Clinical Program Coordinator may also monitor the financial performance of programs to meet departmental goals and assists with short- and long-range budgetary planning.

• Assists the department in managing expectations surrounding pre and post patient care.

• Obtains or reviews all patient demographic information, insurance information and referral numbers.

• Reviews clinical records for completeness including authorization, signatures, missing data and other patient information.

• Answers multiple telephones for the department: triage incoming calls, responds to questions, directs calls, and documents messages in the appropriate software.

• Greets visitors and callers, handles their inquiries, and directs them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.

• Works cooperatively with fellow employees to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the practice.

• Provides coverage for responsibilities of co-workers when assigned or as need arises.

• Develops and promotes the use of effective methods of communicating with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff on a regular basis.

• Maintains confidentiality of all information.

• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

• High school diploma.

• Three years of clerical work experience.

• Strong conflict management and resolution skills.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to handle and resolve sensitive human resources issues.

• Outstanding organizational skills are necessary to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities. Ability to delegate and effectively supervise and plan for the timely and successful completion of short- and long-term objectives.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a large and diverse constituency, including administration, division faculty, patients and support staff. Will communicate information in written, electronic, oral and presentation formats.

• Requires the ability to work independently and to accept responsibility for complex and sensitive decision-making as it relates to the overall flow of the ambulatory practice.

• Interpersonal relationship skills needed to motivate staff and work with leadership, and physicians in a positive and collegiate fashion.
