About the Role
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for receipt, processing, and analysis of specimens, verifying data, and performing quality assurance. Investigates and develops new methods and performs technical review of analytical reports and data for Clinical Pathology.

What You’ll Do Here
• Processes and handle analytical specimens
• Operates and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment
• Prepares, stores, and maintains inventory of required reagents and materials
• Produces, reviews, and manages analytical data
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and failures and notifies management
• Participate in continuing education programs as directed by department management
• Participates in ongoing daily quality assurance activities and quality assurance studies
• Develops the ability to recognize factors and instrumental behavior that affects analytical measurements and result and takes appropriate corrective action in accordance with established protocols
• Works closely with pathologist, and managers to continually improve laboratory operations
• Investigates and develops analytical methods under supervision
• Qualifies and validates analytical instrumentation and methods under supervision
• Performs advanced troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation and methods
• Performs technical review of data
• Cross trains to perform other duties with Laboratory Services
• Assists in training new laboratory personnel by demonstrating necessary laboratory skills and procedures
• Assesses supplies for departmental need and order necessary items

What You’ll Need to Succeed
• BA/BS degree in medical technology or AA or equivalent degree from a technical school specializing in medical technology
• 10+ years of experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• MLS, MLT, MLS or equivalent certification or 10+ years training in these fields
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically with Excel, Word, data entry applications and computer navigation skill
• Proficiency in English including speaking, reading, and writing
• Advanced math skills used to interpret scientific data and processes
• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment
• Ability to function independently and in a team environment
• Positive attitude toward work and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and supervisor

What We Offer: 

The pay range estimated for this position is $23.00 to $36.00 per hour.  Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
