Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position is to receive and process patient specimens delivering them to the appropriate departments, ensures specimens and requisitions are correctly labeled, validate requisitions against orders in the system, processes specimens for reference laboratories, make sure results are sent to the proper providers, investigates and resolves problem specimens, answers and makes phone calls, faxes results, access patient requisitions/labels, keeps work flow at a smooth pace, and assists with supply chain and inventory.Entity

Job Description
The primary function of this position is to receive and process patient specimens delivering them to the appropriate departments, ensures specimens and requisitions are correctly labeled, validate requisitions against orders in the system, processes specimens for reference laboratories, make sure results are sent to the proper providers, investigates and resolves problem specimens, answers and makes phone calls, faxes results, access patient requisitions/labels, keeps work flow at a smooth pace, and assists with supply chain and inventory. Teaches all new employees and students how to process specimens, etc. Assists in covering other shifts when necessary.
Additional Job Description
Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 1 year
State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position.
