About the role

The Clinical Education Specialist will lead the development and execution of the clinical education strategy across CooperSurgical's Surgical (GYN/ L&D) and Specialty businesses. This individual will serve as a strategic driver of professional education, responsible for cultivating Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships, establishing partnerships with leading medical societies within the GYN and Specialty (Plastics, Head & Neck, and ENT) spaces, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful educational initiatives.

This role blends strategy, content development, and analytics. The Clinical Education Specialist will design fellowship and residency training content—including eLearning modules and field-ready training playbooks—that equips field teams to execute high-quality, in-person hands-on training. In addition, this individual will apply a data-driven approach to continuously evaluate program effectiveness and measure procedural adoption, ensuring education investments translate into meaningful clinical and commercial outcomes.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive clinical education strategy for the Surgical (GYN/ L&D) and Specialty businesses, aligned with overall business objectives.

  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to support educational programming, content development, and peer-to-peer training initiatives.

  • Build and manage relationships with key professional societies within the GYN and Specialty (Plastics, Head & Neck, and ENT) markets to expand education presence and partnership opportunities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Professional Education) on joint initiatives, including virtual training webinars and other multi-channel education programs.

  • Design and develop fellowship and residency training content, including eLearning modules and curricula tailored to physicians-in-training.

  • Create training playbooks and supporting materials that enable field teams to independently execute in-person hands-on training programs.

  • Coordinate logistics for physician trainers and faculty supporting educational programs in the field, including scheduling, contracting, and on-site support as needed.

  • Manage data analytics efforts for the education function, including continuous evaluation of program performance and effectiveness.

  • Measure and report on procedural adoption tied to educational programming, using insights to refine strategy and optimize future initiatives.

  • Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards to communicate program impact to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Ensure all education programs and materials comply with applicable regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to travel as required to support field-based educational programs. (up to 60%)

  • Ability to travel is required to support field-based educational programs, programs related to education grants, as well as meetings with cross functional teams quarterly at the corporate office.  

  • Travel ranges anywhere between 50-60%

     

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Qualtrics, Smartsheet, etc. Advanced preferred 

  • Experience in registration systems such as CVENT.

  • Ability to use and create documents within Canva.

  • Strong presentation skills. 

 

Work Environment:

  • Occasionally move around trainers ranging from 50-80lbs in pelican cases.

  • Work can be conducted in lab spaces. Labs could include porcine models and cadaveric models. 

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical education role, preferably within medical devices, surgical, or specialty markets.

  • Proven track record of building and executing on education strategy that drives measurable business results.

  • Proficiency in systems, including learning management systems (LMS), data analytics/reporting tools, and standard business applications.

  • Demonstrated experience developing KOL relationships and working with professional medical societies (preferred).

  • Experience developing eLearning content and/or training curricula (preferred).
