The University of Miami is currently seeking an Sr. Clinic Assistant to work at the UM Hospital and Clinics in Miami. The incumbent's role encompasses the provision of support services to patients and families functioning as an effective member of the health care team by contributing to the efficient operation of the patient care unit. He/she is responsible for coordinating activities to facilitate patients' access to imaging services by assists the technologists, radiologists, and nurses in technical and patient care duties.  Handles reception and clerical duties as required.

Core Job Functions

• Greets patients upon notification of patient arrival.

• Collaborates with Radiology Central Scheduling department to manage over-booking/under-booking, identify add-on and reschedule exams.

• Utilizes UChart and PACS to track patient flow.

• Facilitates communications regarding exams between patients, family members, physicians, and technologists in a friendly manner.

• Perform general office duties in a timely and accurate fashion.

• Scan pertinent patient documents into PACS and/or UChart.

• Review future daily scheduled orders for accuracy and prepare supporting documentation.

• Assists with keeping the imaging area neat, clean, and organized as well as complies with proper disposal of medical supplies.

• Assists technologists in imaging preparations as needed.

• Applies physical age-specific and/or developmental care needs of patients according to their documented physical/development requirement by competency validation checklist:

  • Children

  • Adolescents

  • Adults

  • Geriatric

  • Challenged/Disabled

• Adheres to any regulatory body guidelines governing modality including but not limited to: Joint Commission, AHCA, ACR, FL DOH and FDA/MQSA.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                      

Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 

One year’s medical office experience preferred.
