About the Team & Role

Penn Game Studios (PGS) is searching for an experienced and enthusiastic software engineer to join our Game Client development team.  The right candidate will take responsibility for the implementation, documentation, and optimization of games and tools in our system.  Work includes implementing the front end of slot machines and table games, building front ends for platform-level tools such as reporting, user management, and CMS, and writing libraries used across the front-end engineering team.

About the Work

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Implement front-end games, tools, and platform libraries.
  • Write production-ready Typescript/JavaScript code.
  • Manage tasks and communicate with producers and teammates.
  • Work with teammates to design high-quality solutions for novel problems.
  • Research and apply new technologies when appropriate.
  • Maintain technical documentation of your solutions.

About You

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or five years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building production applications in Typescript.
  • Experience making games or working in the gaming industry as an Engineer.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D transforms, tweening, particle systems, and other core components of building the presentation layer of gaming systems.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to solve technical problems with practical constraints.
  • Experience working with HTML5 game engines such as Cocos Creator and Phaser.js is a plus.
  • Experience working with real-time multiplayer games is a plus
