The Classroom Technology Support Specialist is primarily responsible for systems administration for Macs in classrooms and labs across campus. The Classroom Technology Support Specialist will have a solid knowledge of Apple based computing devices and software and will utilize Apple-based systems using Jamf Pro with updates and application deployment.

The Classroom Technology Support Specialist will also perform data analysis on system performance and usage analysis on lab computers across campus. They will work with faculty to understand needs and research, plan, propose, deploy and administer appropriate hardware and software solutions for classroom and Lab resources.

This is a full-time (40 hours) staff exempt, benefits eligible position based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. This position reports to the Director of Events, Classroom & Lab Technology Services.

Job Duties:

The Classroom Technology Support Specialist performs the following essential functions:

  • Manage and provide system administration for public Apple  (Mac) computers in the classrooms and labs – create software packages, configure operating system and end user profiles, policies, and install hardware replacements. Utilize Apple-based management systems for updates and application deployments.

  • Project Management

  • Responds to classroom technology emergency calls and troubleshoot technical issues in the classrooms, labs, and event spaces. 

  • Stay abreast of the latest A/V equipment and practices and the latest updates from Apple and more broadly, the latest development in IT.

  • Train faculty on how to use the technology within a defined space.  Working with them to figure out what their needs are and how the space can best meet their needs. 

Work Setting: On Campus

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 30 pounds and climb a ladder.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus two years of in-classroom, media and event support experience OR an Associate’s Degree plus four years experience OR six years of significant relevant experience.

  • Experience with audiovisual systems in a classroom setting and networked classroom control systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to assist people in a courteous, helpful and facilitating manner.

And who also has (preferred):

  • Working knowledge of scripting in a Mac environment.

  • Proficient with device management for Macs with a particular focus on JAMF

  • AV trouble-shooting, design, and installation experience.

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.

49,200.00-61,500.00

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
