Description
Logistics:
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday in a typical office environment. The work hours will be either 7:30 AM EST – 4:00 PM EST or 8:00 AM EST – 4:30 PM EST or 8:30 AM EST – 5:00 PM EST. It may necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and weekends. This position is located onsite at 8901 Farrow Road, Columbia, SC, 29203.
What You’ll Do:
- You will research and process claims according to business regulations, internal standards and processing guidelines as well as verifying the coding of procedure and diagnosis codes.
- You’ll also resolve system edits, audits and claims errors through research and the use of approved references and investigative sources.
- The Claims Processor I will coordinate with internal departments to work edits and deferrals, updating the patient identification, other health insurance, provider identification and other files as necessary.
To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:
- High School Diploma OR equivalent
- To know how to operate standard office equipment.
- Strong analytical, organizational and customer service skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
- Good judgment skills.
- Basic business math skills.
What We Prefer:
- 1 year-of experience in a healthcare or insurance environment.
- Ability to use complex mathematical calculations.
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Proficient in database software.
- Ability to type 30 - 50 WPM.
- Strong attention to detail
