Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking talented Civil Engineer - Aviation with experience in airfield engineering (such as runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, airfield lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation) to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Developing civil airfield design and construction improvement documents
- Coordinating with planning and design team members, contractors, and sub-consultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects
- Performing aviation-related civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports
- Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, airfield lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation
- Will be involved with projects from start to completion including planning, design, and construction administration of airports, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans
- Collaborating and/or coordinating delivery teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
- AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D design manager duties
- Analyze GIS data, client as-builts, survey data, geotechnical data, subsurface utility information, and data needed for project development
- Supervise, coordinated, and production of several projects concurrently.
- Establishes positive client relationships
- Coordinate with clients, funding agencies, state aviation officials, FAA, and local permit Agencies
- Includes regular site visits during the design and construction phases of airport improvement projects throughout the United States
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D Design or Open Roads Designer
- Experience with civil site development or airfield design and construction
- EI or PE, preferably State of Iowa
Additional Information
Relocation is available for this position
Offered rate of compensation (Iowa locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000.
