About NAAFLS
The North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Service (NAAFLS) is a not-for-profit organisation delivering holistic legal and support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence. With offices across the Top End, our work is grounded in cultural respect, community collaboration, and self-determination.
Position Overview
We are seeking a values-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our Corporate Services and Specialist Teams and drive operational excellence across the organisation. Reporting to the CEO and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will oversee operations, finance, compliance, risk, and strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What Weβre Looking For
- Proven experience (5+ years) leading operations, corporate services, and projects in medium to large organisations.
- Skilled in mentoring staff, achieving strategic goals, and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Culturally competent and able to engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Professional, team-focused approach; willingness to travel and ability to obtain WWCC and clear Criminal History Check.
