Who is Comprehensive Healthcare?
Comprehensive Healthcare provides innovative behavioral health and integrated healthcare services to clients of all ages. We take pride in our creative and collaborative work environment and in delivering clinically excellent, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services.

What are we looking for in a Nurse?
Nurses for our outpatient programs collaborate with various outpatient treatment teams to provide integrated, evidence-based treatment to clients. Nurses work closely with clients to administer medications, to provide education about prescriptions and general health needs, and to develop a treatment plan that reflects the clients’ goals. When possible, nurses will also coordinate with clients’ families or social supports to help position clients for success. Our programs have adopted trauma-informed principles to client care, so the nursing process will similarly take a respectful, client-centered approach. This position is part of our outpatient medication-assisted treatment program for individuals who are opioid-dependent. Substance use treatment at Comprehensive is evidence-based and emphasizes harm reduction & continued progress toward each individual’s recovery goals. This position requires a Nurse who demonstrates an understanding of substance use disorders and their treatment, supports the evidence-based model of medication-assisted treatment, and understands the potential risks and requirement to follow exactly all protocols & testing to provide safe treatment. This is a full-time position with a set schedule of Monday-Friday 5am-1:30pm and one monthly Saturday shift of 6:15am-9am.

Nursing duties may include:

  • administering medications (including injections) and monitoring clients’ symptoms & response to medication
  • utilizing electronic dispensing software for medication administration
  • counseling clients about medications and treatment
  • completing nursing assessments and monitoring for symptoms of dyskinesia, sedation, or intoxication prior to administering any medication
  • reviewing all new prescriptions for contraindications and coordinating care with other healthcare providers as needed to ensure safe treatment
  • monitoring supply levels of methadone, suboxone, and dispensing supplies; completing daily inventory; and following protocol for receiving shipments
  • assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
  • completing all clinical documentation in timely and client-centered manner

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license in Washington State
