General Notes

This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Some travel required.

Purpose

The Manager position will be responsible for management and documentation of contracts and grants, including development, oversight, amendments, budget reporting, monitoring deliverables, and communication with subcontractors and the funder.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sub-awards and contracts, including reporting, invoicing, and payment.

  • Maintain financial data quality and compliance with sponsor reporting systems.

  • Summarize reported deliverable data and financial data. Manage deliverables deadlines, and create reports for the project team and funders.

  • Use university systems to manage sub-awards and contracts, including *DEFINE and the Research Management System (RMS).

  • Represent the project team on assigned workgroups and in contract meetings with the funding organizations.

  • Participate in regular team meetings and project meetings with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or other related field with at least 3 years of experience overseeing business operations at a university or nonprofit. Excellent attention to detail. Strong writing and communication skills. Experience with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Values the contribution of others in the work environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Business Administration with at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience with processes, policies, and procedures at The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), including *DEFINE and the UT Research Management System (RMS).

Salary Range

$60,000 - $75,000 - depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

  • Some travel required

Work Shift

  • M-F, Flexible between 8am-6pm
