The Role: Restaurant General Manager

We're seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant General Manager with a proven track record of success in high-volume, upscale dining environments (200-300 covers), ideally with a focus on French cuisine. You're not just a manager; you're a leader, a mentor, and a community builder.

The Location:

Brasserie la Banque is a neighborhood French restaurant nestled in historic downtown Charleston, SC. Paying homage to traditional French cuisine in a lively and welcoming environment, Brasserie la Banque celebrates life’s memorable moments from impromptu drinks to convivial gatherings and leisurely meals. 

 Led by owner and industry veteran Steve Palmer of Indigo Road Hospitality Group, the restaurant is a culmination of Palmer’s work and his passion for the classic French brasserie and its cuisine. The menu features a selection of traditional French dishes alongside more innovative fare. Aptly named for its previous role as a city bank, Brasserie la Banque is located within the iconic 1 Broad Street corner building that dates back to the 1700s. 

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 5+ years of experience leading high-volume restaurants, preferably with a French focus.
• Is passionate about food and beverage, with a keen eye for quality and a commitment to sourcing the best local ingredients.
• Excels at building and developing teams, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
• Is a strong communicator and problem-solver, capable of navigating challenges and driving results.
• Is eager to engage with the Charleston community, building relationships with local vendors, businesses, and farms.
• Is looking for a change of pace and a chance to make a real impact.

As our Restaurant General Manager, you'll:

• Lead with passion and inspire your team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Nurture staff development and create a positive, high-performing culture.
• Engage with local vendors and farms to source the highest quality products.
• Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Become an integral part of the community, participating in volunteer and charitable initiatives.

Requirements

Requirements for Success:

• At least 5+ years of successful restaurant management
• Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic mindset with an excellent record of hotel management
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow leaders, managers, employees, and all guests
• Strong problem management skills with accuracy in quickly handling emergency situations and providing solutions
• Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays [about 55 to 60 hours a week]
• Ability to constantly stand and walk with occasional stooping, kneeling, ascending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting
