About the Team:

The Data Science team at AT&T strives to lead transformation through data-driven decisions that advance the customer experience and businesses around the world. With access to one of the coolest and largest data sets available, we enable the discovery and development of meaningful insights that inspire continuous innovation.
We are seeking an experienced self-driven Data Engineer who is comfortable being part of a small skunk works team responsible for building, designing, and end-to-end ownership of a scalable software product tasked to deliver intelligent data-driven products.

​​Responsibilities: 

• Develop high-performance, scalable, distributed computing tasks using Python, PySpark, and other distributed environment technologies.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing large datasets.

• Deploy and integrate Generative AI models, including Large Language Models (LLMs), into production environments.

• Implement effective prompt engineering strategies to enhance model performance and outputs.

• Utilize FastAPI for creating robust APIs and write efficient Python code to support data processing, model deployment, and AI-driven solutions.

• Use big data programming languages and technology to write code, complete programming and documentation, and perform testing and debugging of applications.

• Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in distributed, large-scale analytics and visualization solutions.

• Interact with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded, and presented.

• Work in a highly agile environment.

• Manage day-to-day work and deliverables 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Scientific Computing preferred.

• Requires 5+ years years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in Python, Scala, and SQL.

• Expertise / Experience in UI / Frontend using React.JS

• Hands-on experience with popular front end and back-end frameworks.

• Expertise in backend API development or Integration using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

• Experience with React JS and other front-end frameworks and data processing and analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Job Contribution:

Expert level technical professional. Advisor on technical knowledge and ATT technologies.

Education:

Preferred Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Math or Scientific Computing preferred.

Experience:

• 8-10 years experience in a technology role

• 5+ years of experience in Python and backend frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django

• 3+ years of experience with JS frameworks like React or Angular

• 3+ years of experience in cloud native development environments

• 3+ years of experience with devops pipelines like GitHub Actions, ADO Pipelines, or Jenkins

Our Principal Big Data Software Engineering, earns between $158,200.00-$237,400.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
