Early Commercial & Portfolio Strategy Senior Manager

About the role
The Early pipeline and Portfolio Strategy Manager will master the evolving market requirements to succeed in speciality vaccines and evaluate internal and external early and late portfolio opportunities leading to a balanced commercially viable portfolio for Valneva.
- Lead robust strategic and commercial evaluations
- Lead a cross-functional commercial sub-team to align around key insights and inputs to inform commercial assessment and recommendations (e.g. Commercial, Analytics, Medical, Reg/Q, Finance).
- Develop and propose early commercial strategies, value propositions and a prioritized approach to potential label indications.
- Build and maintain global forecast models that accurately assess the market opportunity associated with pipeline candidates in different indications, develop NPV-based business cases and decision frameworks for evaluation of pipeline opportunities & develop global strategic plans for pipeline assets.
- Establish appropriate scenarios and evaluate potential risks and sensitivities
- Map out a future landscape for next 5 and 10y and assess how standard of care/treatment in future will evolve
- Collaborate with other functions like CI, Market access and Medical Affairs to develop a fully integrated commercial value proposition for the development portfolio leading to in market commercial success upon launch
- Communicate key disease area/market insights to relevant internal stakeholders, identifying considerations and implications for development strategies
- Give informed guidance on launch indication order and priority. Review and evaluate implications of new competitor data
- Engage and influence internal and external key stakeholders to drive initiatives
- Develop and maintain strong, internal partnerships with cross-functional colleagues (e.g. program team, commercial, regulatory, CMC, clinical, business development, research etc.) whilst developing and managing budgets for external agency/vendor partnerships.
- Develop and manage budgets diligently
- Active scouting of new products for global/ regional/ local deals through own network, congresses, scanning
- Support with development of commercial in-licensing strategy
In licencing:
Develop licensing strategy for significant cases, identifying potential licensees, negotiating terms, preparing draft agreements, and closing the deal.Requirements
- At least 10 years of strategic marketing experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech with HQ relevant experience
- Strong experience within global marketing and New Product Planning roles.
- Global and Local successful experience required
- Experienced in successful cross-functional teamwork including working with R&D and BD
- Proven ability to analyse markets and competition and future landscaping of the field
- Familiar with health economics and pricing strategy
- Good knowledge of regulatory and medical processes
- A multitasker keeping his/her cool when confronted with large amounts of work in a challenging and changing/agile environment
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Thrives in a dynamic environment and operates with confidence in ambiguous situations
- Able to set priorities, develop and manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
- Operates on both strategic and operational level
