Psychiatry Peer Bridger - 8am to 4:30pm - Columbia University Irving Medical Center

This position provides peer support services to patients with serious mental illnesses. Under supervision of the Social Work Supervisor, the Psych Peer Bridger functions as a support to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills. Serves as a mentor for wellness and recovery, providing validation and support through person centered approaches for CPEP patients. Complies with departmental policies and procedures in interacting with all individuals in a trauma informed and responsive approach.

The hours are from 8am to 4:30pm, with some weekends.

Required Criteria:

• High School Diploma
• Must possess Certificate from New York State approved Peer Bridger certification program
• Current BCLS certification
