About the role

Position Function:

Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Mississippi State University Track & Field Office working with the Head Track & Field Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coaches.

Salary Grade:  13

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties assigned in positions allocated to this classification. The absence of specific statements of duties does not exclude those tasks from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.

1. Organize, order, arrange, and inventory of all Adidas equipment.
2. Responsible for arranging all travel, air travel, hotels, buses, and meals for home and away competitions.
3. Assist with mass mail-outs; organize sophomore recruiting list; respond to recruiting letters and Head Coach’s mail.
4. Responsible for monitoring players attendance at required meals.
5. Organizes video of practices and meets.
6. Monitor and record team workouts, strength and conditioning sessions, and practices.
7. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field with one (1) year of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours.
• Excellent organizational, management, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel and stay overnight.
• Valid Drivers’ License.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. with one to the point of being objectionable. Injuries may require professional treatment.

Job frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping/kneeling/ crouching/ crawling, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
