We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Crime Associate to join the Compliance team based in Darlington on a permanent basis (hybrid working).

The role

This role will be responsible for assisting the Director of Financial Crime in ensuring that Railpen has a robust and effective anti-financial crime framework. The Financial Crime Associate will provide guidance and direction to colleagues to ensure they remain protected from financial crime risks whilst helping to embed an effective financial crime risk culture.

This role will be tasked with assisting in identifying, investigating, and implementing financial crime controls that help to prevent financial crimes that pose a risk to Railpen.

The person

We are looking for someone who has some previous experience as a Financial Crime Associate and who has knowledge of financial crime legislation including Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing and Fraud. You will have a good working knowledge of financial crime and fraud prevention within the UK regulatory environment. An understanding of Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new internal systems is essential to this role.

The successful candidate will look to build effective relationships within Railpen, based on trust, commitment and delivery. Communication skills are essential for this role as the successful candidate will need to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing to a variety of stakeholders across Railpen. You will be able to identify potential risks, whilst offering comprehensive investigative detail and solution. The ability to be proactive and manage multiple priorities at one given time is key, as is having a willingness to learn and desire to develop best practice within Anti-Financial Crime.
