Department Overview
The US Federal Governments Markets Division is chartered with being the premier, compliant supplier of world-class communications solutions to the U.S. Federal Government by providing the highest quality products, systems and services. The USFGMD will achieve this with a professional, well-trained, diverse work force creating a positive and profitable customer relationship resulting in Total Customer Satisfaction and growth of our business. The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD Field Engineer, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world.
Job Description
- Post-sales position in which predominant job responsibilities and requirements occur after the sale of the company’s product to the client.
- Provides post-sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation and maintenance of company products.
- Involved in implementing detailed customer installation requirements.
- Ensures that client’s needs have been met and that the product/solution is fully functioning according to specification.
- Follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
- Report only those incumbents with incentives not tied to product sales.
Candidate Expectations
- Experience in the design and implementation of wireless networks, microwave networks, P25 network technology, HF ALE systems and equipment, propagation analysis, drive testing, model tuning, experience with propagation tools, RF site evaluation, site candidate evaluation/selection, link budget analysis, coverage and capacity planning, frequency planning, interference analysis, network optimization and zoning support.
- ASTRO 25 specific knowledge, backhaul, and/or satellite engineering and system design and integration.
- Experience in preventative maintenance of subscriber equipment and command & control/dispatch center equipment.
- Knowledge of voice-over-packet router nodes and networks.
- Familiarity with VoIP equipment in radio networks.
- Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security Plus
- Strong networking skills required
- Understanding of IA systems and group policies in a network administrative position.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Motorola Radio Service Software products.
- Must have excellent communications skills and always present a professional image.
- Required to complete Standard Form 89 Questionnaire for National Security Positions.
- The candidate must be able to obtain a passport
- Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract

Basic Requirements
- 10+ years experience in one of the following: Electronics Technician, System Technologist, System Manager, or Field Service Experience with one or more of the following: LMR, RF systems, P25, ASTRO, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering or Networking equipment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary government security clearance as required by government contract(s)
