Job Description

We have an exciting a leadership opportunity at the forefront of building and managing a team. In this role, you will manage responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing guidance to company’s operations groups through trouble-shooting, scheduling, securing resources, etc. Working with operations management team, position also contributes to development and implementation of operational strategies, policies, and practices. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervises operations of the group (e.g., scheduling, turnaround time, internal R&D projects). 
  • Evaluates performance of and provides mentoring for group members (annual performance reviews). 
  • Provides feedback to Executive management on pricing, business development, etc. 
  • Has working knowledge of industry sector’s client base.  
  • Is familiar with relevant quality system documents and complies with all system requirements. 
  • Reviews group quality documents and makes changes where appropriate. 
  • Prepares reports on analytical results for customers, including interpretation of results. 
  • Provides technical review for analysts’ reports. 
  • Evaluates customer requests, determines testing requirements and prepares project quotations. 
  • Protects confidential information and proprietary processes.   
  • Handles customer materials and company equipment in a responsible and efficient manner. 
  • Follows established safety protocols and procedures.  
  • Requirements of the Technology Control Plan are followed at all times to ensure export control compliance 
  • Ensures compliance with quality system documents and processes 
  • Maintains specified records of test data and ensures Good Documentation Practices 
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with 1+ yrs. industry experience; M.S. in Chemistry or related field with 2+ yrs. industry experience; B.S. in Chemistry or related field with 4+ yrs. industry experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and interpretative skills in one or more areas of specialization. 
  • 2+ Years of experience of supervisory or management experience 
  • Experience in a GMP environment.
  • Wide-ranging knowledge of laboratory operations processes and resource management.  
  • Project management or facilitation experience required.  
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to interact with staff throughout the company and build effective relationships in support of company goals.  
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.  
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.  
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment.  
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and a collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.  
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.  
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view.  
  • Persuasive with details and facts.  
  • Delegates responsibility effectively.
