Raytheon is seeking a well-qualified Principal System Security Engineer (SSE) – P4 to join the Cyber Security Engineering team for a dynamic, high-profile program located in Largo, Florida. This position is in a technical growth area and we need individuals who can apply their technical knowledge and experience to system security engineering and program protection concerns within the key areas of cybersecurity. This role includes the operations and maintenance of classified information system. The SSE will participate in the development of security solutions and will be responsible for executing solutions for a secure system product. Activities will consist of maintaining security subsystem specifications, adherence to security subsystem architecture, participating in Risk Management Framework assessments and authorizations. This is an onsite position at Raytheon in Largo, FL.
What You Will Do
As a System Administrator ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT systems and applications
Optimizing Windows based server infrastructure in a distributed information system
Providing guidance in support of administrative tasking, to include corrective/preventive maintenance, recurring operations functions, account management, and system optimization
Coordinating technical and process document reviews and resolving system administration, engineering, and integration issues
Participating in technical meetings with team members and other program personnel
Participating in the development and implementation of systems security solutions
Performing hands-on technical implementation of security solutions comprised of COTS & FOSS technology
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Top Secret Security SCI clearance and the ability to obtain Special Access Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with designing, implementing, testing and fielding real-time security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs
Experience in developing system requirements and flow down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystems
Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification, CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification)
Experience with the following technologies: Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, and prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites
Qualifications We Prefer
Excellent analytical abilities, critical thinking and creative problem solving
Experience writing technical documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
Industry certifications include but are not limited to: CISSP, ITIL, Security+
