Job Summary
The BYU–Hawaii Store is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Retail Supervisor to lead the daily operations of its retail locations. This position plays a key role in managing inventory, overseeing product procurement, and ensuring quality customer experience. A key part of the role includes overseeing the university’s cellphone service program for students and alumni.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent organizational, communication, and service-oriented skills who thrives in a diverse, customer-focused environment.
Primary Responsibilities Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Product Ordering
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock.
- Analyze sales data to inform purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and product availability.
- Oversee inventory counts and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy.
Sales Floor Supervision & Customer Service
- Supervise sales floor operations, ensuring it is well-organized, clean, and visually appealing.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and collecting feedback.
- Train and mentor staff in customer service best practices and store policies.
- Address and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
Team Leadership & Scheduling
- Create, manage, and adjust staff schedules to ensure efficient coverage.
- Lead team meetings to share updates, provide training, and reinforce goals.
- Foster a positive team environment focused on development, accountability, and service.
Campus Cellphone Management
- Manage cellphone plans and services for students and alumni, including activation, billing, and troubleshooting.
- Track cellphone usage and ensure accurate invoices for services provided.
- Liaise with service providers to address issues.
- Educate users on policies, usage, and best practices for managing their plans.
Additional Duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the smooth and efficient operations of the retail stores and services.
Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail supervision, customer service, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire and develop a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory or point-of-sale systems.
- Experience with vendor negotiations and contract management is a plus.
- Familiarity with cellphone plans and services is preferred but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Approximate starting hourly rate:
23.00 - 26.00The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.
