We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts within the Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) SBU. In this job, you will be responsible for helping lead, manage, and administer production and sustainment contracts within the EO/IR Global Air Force portfolio. The portfolio will include Firm Fixed Price Incentive Fee (FPIF), FFP and Cost Type contracts.
The position will be well suited for a highly motivated, well-organized person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Enablers for success include being able to effectively multitask; familiar with DoD contracting; and demonstrate good communication skills to be able to interface with all levels of internal and external customers.
Success in this position is defined as being a business partner with the assigned teams.
What You Will Do:
- Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, contracts execution, as well as general contract administration.
- Collaborate with the Contracts Lead, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Proposal Manager, Business/Estimating and Supply Chain.
- Support program management and execution reviews.
- Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies.
- Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising stakeholders of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks.
- Examine and understand cost structure estimates of labor, material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify, mitigate, and drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
- Experience with U.S. Government contracts under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplemental (DFARS)
- Experience reviewing RFPs, proposals or similar contractual documents for contractual requirements and risks
- Experience in proposal and contract negotiations or similar business negotiations
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Functional relevant business experience in law, supply chain or finance
- Proven record of responsiveness with strong time management and organization skills
- Professional, effective written and verbal communication skills to interface with internal and external customers; strong analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations
- Familiarity with Intellectual Property, license agreements, teaming agreements, and Export/Import
- Experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, or PowerPoint)
- Juris Doctor, MBA or NCMA Certification
- Current DoD Secret clearance
