POSITION OVERVIEW

The Staff Attorney at the Oklahoma State Department of Education provides legal counsel and representation on a wide range of legal matters impacting public education. This role involves advising department staff on legal issues, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and representing the department in administrative and judicial proceedings. The Staff Attorney will work closely with various divisions to support the mission of the department through effective legal strategies and solutions.

Please note: this role does not allow for any form of remote work, including telecommuting or hybrid arrangements. The nature of this position necessitates a consistent in-person presence. Prospective candidates should be aware that the responsibilities associated with this role require physical presence at the designated workplace in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Juris doctorate [official transcripts required upon hire];

• Active Oklahoma Bar Association member in good standing;

• Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience.
