The Software Test Engineer 2 position at Abbott focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of software products within the Diabetes division. This role involves completing software testing activities, creating and executing test cases, and collaborating with stakeholders to validate software functionality. The engineer will work within an Agile SDLC process to support the development of innovative diabetes management technologies.
Responsibilities
- Complete software testing and activities in conjunction for user stories within the Agile SDLC process.
- Review System Specifications/Requirements documents, user stories and create verification test cases (based on those requirements), and execute test cases.
- Perform exploratory testing, system level end to end testing, develop test datasets and execute automation scripts (to ensure application software releases are of high quality).
- Investigate and report unexpected events, issues or software bugs. Verify fixes.
- Create verification and validation test plans, test reports, trace matrices and review with relevant stakeholders (dev and quality).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in a scientific, technical, or engineering discipline.
- 2 years' experience in Software Testing and/or Software Quality Assurance including coursework.
- Must be technically strong and have experience testing mobile applications.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Medical Device experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in an agile development environment preferred.
- Experience with embedded systems and integration testing with external systems preferred.
- Cyber security, medical mobile applications or cloud computing experience preferred.
