This position specifically supports the IT Data and Analytics team with a focus in Epic Cogito Reporting Suite and third-party data integration. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of core Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing technologies including Microsoft SQL Server and/or Epic reporting tools include RW/Radar/SlicerDicer. Reporting/Analytics experience is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret results of query analysis.
Under general direction, the Data Analytics Analyst II is an Epic certified or proficient individual, who is responsible for the support, analysis, design, build, configuration, implementation, workflow documentation, and educational support of the assigned Epic application or third-party software, in alignment with organization's policies, procedures, and business operations.
Is knowledgeable about Epic or healthcare IT system functions. Readily displays the ability to diagnose issues, identify appropriate resources and escalations, and propose creative solutions to complex problems.
Understands the functions and processes of key customer departments and can coordinate and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholder groups.
Can function independently at the level that will allow them to participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation and coordinate and deliver team level project requests.
Works with the objective of delivering elegant solutions that are intuitive, empowering, efficient, scalable, sustainable, systems focused, and foundation based. Maximizes use of Epic foundation functionality to enhance user experience, limiting custom solutions when foundation tools are available.
Uses analytics to drive workflow changes and process decision. Develops measurements and tools for monitoring value and success of system changes. Facilitates a handoff of monitoring value and success to operations. We strive to maintain a 90% Epic enhancement adoption rate.
Essential Functions:
- General
• Plans and organizes time effectively.
• Meet with application analysts and report consumers to understand their workflow and reporting needs; work with end users to provide key insights and results analysis for proper data interpretation.
• Participates and guides the phases of system changes, including design, build, testing, documentation and education. Create design specifications for new reports / datasets; identify and validate the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs. Creates new reports/data solutions using vendor supplied reporting tools and/or modify existing reports/data solutions as necessary.
• Review upgrade documentation related to Reporting Workbench/Radar features and released reporting content and determine how to implement the changes.
• Complies with department processes for change management and risk mitigation. Using tools such as Epic Content Management, Data Courier, and other department tools.
• Learn and implement new reporting tools as needed and determined by the vendor and / or the enterprise.
• Reporting Workbench administration including template creation for Chronicles sourced data and development of more complex Reporting Workbench reports / Radar dashboards
• Deliver data via standard reporting tools, ie CSV, Excel and SlicerDicer custom development.
• Ability to research and troubleshoot reporting content functionality to ensure data is accurate and daily processing has been completed.
• Communicates with team, stakeholders and vendors to discuss the status of issues, trends, deliverables, end-user concerns, and anticipated milestones. Provides feedback to vendors on existing functionality and desired new / modified functionality to enhance overall system capabilities.
• Maintains and reviews the status of projects and escalates issues and risks on an ongoing basis with leadership.
• Follows standard work for documentation of all solutions ensuring consistent deliverable and reusable solutions
• Actively reviews and responds to vendor, enterprise, and team correspondence.
• Makes use of IT and enterprise problem/request tracking tools. Keeps current documentation on all assigned tasks. Completes work status and time allocation documentation as required.
• Work with training staff to ensure documentation and training materials are in line with delivered solutions.
• Makes formal and informal presentation
