Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Sr. Manager, Maintenance Excellence to be based out of a regional Atkore facility (Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, and Dallas). Reporting to Reporting to the VP of Atkore Business System (ABS), this person will be responsible for taking on the role of leading the development and execution of the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence Roadmap.

The Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience Engineering and/or Maintenance field in a steel Industry, developing, leading, and executing proven maintenance reliability programs preferred. Experience in cost drivers of maintenance in manufacturing operations, project engineering management, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a requirement.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development & execution of the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence Roadmap to achieve World Class Maintenance & Equipment Reliability and drive progress and issue cause resolution against the plan.
  • Utilizing the 5 stage Maintenance Maturity Model approach, cascade the development and oversee execution by site, maintenance excellence roadmap strategy and vision.
  • Develop and conduct an audit system to ensure practices and processes are robust, and progress towards goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for all Maintenance Excellence activities focused on improving the performance of the organization.
  • Create and execute plan to build out the Enterprise Maintenance Excellence Team to support and maximize site maintenance and asset performance.
  • Develop and Deploy Key Productivity Indicators that evaluate the equipment by Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) with an effective short- and long-term data driven restoration process/plan.
  • Create and deploy across the enterprise, equipment criticality and reliability analysis, utilizing FMEA (Failure Modes Effects Analysis) and both, historical data, and OEM recommendations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Master’s degree preferred, relevant certifications a plus (i.e., SMRP, CMRP, Lean Six Sigma BB).
  • Prior multi-level site responsibly required.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Engineering and/or Maintenance field in a steel Industry, developing, leading, and executing proven maintenance reliability programs preferred.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and passion for lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the cost drivers of Maintenance in manufacturing operations.
  • Project Engineering/Management.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) experience required.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.
  • Visit the locations you support and begin building relationships with site contacts.

Within 6 months, you’ll:

  • Measures the overall effectiveness of equipment.
  • Evaluates the average time between equipment failures.
  • Assesses the average time required to repair equipment.
  • Indicates the percentage of planned maintenance activities.

Within 12 months, you’ll:

  • Schedule Compliance measures the extent of adherence to planned maintenance schedules.
  • Emergency Maintenance Percentage reflects the proportion of unplanned maintenance work.
  • Planned Maintenance Compliance measures the percentage of completed planned maintenance activities.
  • Work Order Completion Rate indicates the percentage of completed work orders within a timeframe.
