JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing will not only execute in the trenches, but also provide strategic leadership, from a market and branding perspective. As a key member of the marketing team, the Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive and compelling marketing, branding and communications strategy to increase the awareness and visibility of SoLa Impact and its non-profit affiliate the SoLa I CAN Foundation and to drive the growth of its businesses.

The SoLa I CAN Foundation (I CAN), the non-profit affiliate of SoLa Impact, is built on a simple premise: if you can see it, you can be it. We are determined to offer South LA youth a community oriented, safe learning environment to build their career readiness and workforce skills. Our SoLa Technology and Entrepreneurship Center is bridging the gap in the digital divide by opening access to technology, entrepreneurship and leadership education for Black and Latinx youth in South LA. SoLa Impact is an award-winning social impact, development, and investment company focused exclusively on creating high-quality affordable housing in low-income, Black and brown communities. Over the last several years, we have raised almost $500 million in equity --- allowing us to deploy well over $1.5 billion – toward addressing the housing crisis in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California. Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop a marketing strategy and plan that includes messaging, campaign development, press releases, and social media strategies; ensure that all written messages align with the goals and objectives of SoLa Impact;
- Spearhead all marketing projects (full cycle: concept, initiation, implementation, and post-launch trainings), and clearly communicate their value to our team
- Drive the implementation of marketing campaigns that meet business objectives and drive investment leads;
- Define key marketing metrics and lead the process of converting measurements into performance reports and dashboards for SoLa’s marketing team and marketing programs
- Identify and plan differentiated and impactful marketing strategies/materials that includes messaging, campaign development, press releases, fact sheets, industry articles, and social media strategies;
- Establish and maintain scalable processes that guarantee best practices in lead and campaign management, marketing automation systems, and marketing database management
- Regularly communicate performance and content calendar updates to cross-functional teams to ensure future improvements and initiatives are supported
- Work closely with SoLa Impact’s PR firm to align marketing strategies;
- Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels
- Maintain relationships with relevant publications, market reporters, and relevant media outlets to facilitate publicity
- Drive the implementation of marketing campaigns that meet business objectives and drive investment leads;
- Utilize best practices for search engine optimization (SEO), content management systems, scripting languages to build out and edit web page content
- Develop and produce video projects promoting the image of SoLa Impact;
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- BA Degree in Marketing, Communication or similar relevant field is a must; Masters’ Degree preferred;
- Minimum 5+ years digital marketing and content strategy experience
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Real Estate Development, Property Management, or related field preferred; Affordable Housing experience strongly preferred
