About the role

 

The Team:

The Team within the Department of Health Tasmania works collaboratively to provide responsive, patient‑focused service as Customer Service Officers – Appointment Scheduling Clerks. The team plays a vital role in supporting clinical services by coordinating and managing patient appointments with care, accuracy, and professionalism. Working closely with health professionals, colleagues, and the broader community, the team is committed to clear communication, efficiency, and ensuring a positive experience for every patient they support.

The Role:

  • Provide clerical support for the coordination and efficient operation of Outpatient reception areas.
  • Accurately collect manual and computerised patient information system data.
  • Perform duties in accordance with the policies and procedures relating to clinical, financial and administrative requirements for Outpatient Services South.

You will need to:

  • Schedule appointments for specific clinics in accordance with clinic timetables, ceilings and specific limitations that may apply to each clinic.
  • Process clinic alterations, additions and cancellations in liaison with clinical staff.
  • Register new patients and update demographic, clinical and financial data in the patient information system for all patients scheduled for clinic appointments.

Details of appointment:

Multiple permanent part time, day worker positions, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
