Quality Analyst

Ecolab is seeking a Quality Analyst who will be responsible for analytical testing that will be used in the development of new product specifications. In this position you will perform quality testing, maintenance, and calibrations of the instruments in addition to assisting in the development of new test methods as needed.

What You will Do:

• Work with production, engineering, or QA technical staff to achieve statistical process control and capability
• Promptly performs reports and records all Quality Control procedures and test results in a precise and accurate manner
• Applies Good Laboratory Practices to accurately record and file all raw test data, including pertinent paperwork -e.g./ chromatograms, graphs, spectra, and test results
• Communicates results and dispositions to Production, QA, and the Supervisor as required. Calculates and recommends batch adjustments to Production
• Responsible for performing routine maintenance and upkeep on assigned laboratory equipment and work areas
• Will be assigned responsibility for calibration and associated record keeping of analytical equipment or other special projects as determined by the QA Supervisor
• Report promptly all problems regarding procedures, equipment, products, raw materials, specifications, etc., to the quality Supervisor or designate, as well as other quality Chemists
• Maintenance inventory status of reagents, equipment, etc., to keep the lab at full operational capacity
• Prepares lab standard test reagents, and performs standardization on reagents and calibration of equipment regularly
• Keeps detailed records and maintains control and/or trend charts
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment and assures smooth operation of the QA Laboratory by communication, planning, and preparation in support of other shifts

Position Details: 

• Plant location: Garyville, LA Plant
• Work week and shift:

  Dupont Shift: Candidates work 12 hours shifts alternating between 36 and 48 hour work weeks, which includes weekends. The first work week is day shift 4:45am to 5:15pm, the second work week is night shift 4:45pm to 5:15am.

• Compensation package offered: $30.00 ph

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of previous experience working in a chemical and/or manufacturing environment
• 2 years of working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and basic “wet lab” techniques
• Ability to perform basic Quality Control tests (take samples, perform pH tests)

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
• Have the ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology
• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability
• Team player and detail-oriented
• Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
• Knowledge of the aspects of chemical manufacturing and how the process affects the environment, and the safety of workers and consumers

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

$30.00 ph Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
