Description
The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Nowak’s laboratory seeks a highly motivated Staff Associate I who can collaborate with PI to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of research laboratory; hands on oversight of lab documentation; monitor an maintain all supplies inventories independent performance of routine assays as well as its further development and introduction of new complementary techniques. Must have knowledge of blood and sample processing, cell culture, immunological assays such as MLR, ELISpot, FCS, PCR, Architect, etc., including reagent validation, titration, and QC.
Candidate should have a strong working knowledge as well as problem solving skills, thus keeping quality control of the obtained scientific results, and in consultation with the PI, resolve challenges by examining and evaluating the results and selecting corrective steps
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, engineering, chemistry, physics, math, computer sciences, or related fields.
Minimum 1-year experience in lab technician work (immunological assays FACS, MLR, ELISpot, PCR) and good record of working in a research team.
