Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Overview:

Novelis in Atlanta is seeking a Data Engineer Co-Op on-site summer 2025. Novelis has a Big Data environment, where data from many source systems is collected and processed to create the curated dataset. The curated datasets are used for Analytical use cases. All the current data pipelines are created using Informatica DEI. We are looking for a highly motivated co-op to join our team to help convert existing ETL pipelines from Informatica to Python/PySpark pipelines.

 

Key Learnings:

• The Data Engineering Intern will learn the existing data models, developed by the Digital Team, and help convert the current Pipelines from Informatica DEI to PySpark.
• The Data Engineering Intern will learn/understand the functional processes within Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations etc., and understand common data manipulation and transformation tasks.
• The Data Engineering Intern will understand software development lifecycle and work in a professional environment.
• The Data Engineering Intern will learn Databricks, PySpark, Git, Azure DevOps and other tools that are used within Novelis’ Analytics ecosystem.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Either have completed Master’s in software engineering or currently enrolled in a program
• A proficient understanding and write efficient code using Python, SQL, and PySpark based framework.
• Understanding of Agile development processes
• Understanding of git workflow and CI/CD.
• Experience in Collaborative and Iterative Development
• Desire for continuous development and learning opportunities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and time management skills
