Role Description:
The successful candidate for the TradeAgent Senior Test Engineer role, reporting to the Director of Solution & Delivery for Trade Agent, will form part of a team building a complex and from grounds up new cloud-based critical market infrastructure service in a bold new venture part of LSEG. This exciting opportunity requires a candidate who takes great pride in delivery excellence with excellent logical and technical skills. They will need a can-do attitude combined with a helpful mentality, and a wish to play a critical role in forming and growing a new business. They should have a keenness to ensure quality of the platform is at a very high level and can be easily maintained by using modern automation frameworks
Key Responsibilities:
Help deliver and maintain the multiple components of the Trade Agent platform ensuring timely delivery of work items. Willing to take new responsibilities based on projects need and circumstances. Actively guide and help improve engineering excellence withing the program and promote a culture of learning and development. Ensure work is well documented and communicated with various collaborators expectations managed. Be challenging and questioning while ensuring trust and respect are maintained and a one team mentality is promoted. Some key responsibilities as below
- Analysing requirements, user stories and business flow diagrams
- Design relevant test cases that provide the proper coverage of the features to be tested
- Design, develop, maintain, and extend automation scripts
- Ability to deliver all levels of testing including manual brute force
- Managing client and stakeholders’ interaction
- Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
- Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle, following a shift-left approach
Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
A good understanding of shift left testing principles. A testing mentality with an ability to grasp complex requirements and ensure quality of a product against functional, non-functional aspects of a product, including security performance, resiliency Automation testing experience in both frontend and backend
Functional Test Framework
- Working experience with Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Rest Assured, JUnit
- Experience in designing and implementing testing frameworks
- Experience with testing REST API services, both manually and automated
- Good knowledge in SQL querying, preferably PostgresSQL
- Experience with Messaging queues, preferably Kafka and IBM MQ
- Knowledge of AWS DevOps pipelines to set up automated builds and enable CI/CD
