POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Project & Bid Manager is responsible for leading the development of potential new contract manufacturing and packaging opportunities with key customers across North America. The position will facilitate internal and external communication and drive sales strategies and tactics to increase customer retention and growth with existing customers as well as lead the acquisition of new customers in the CPG, Food & Beverage, and Healthcare sectors. The Manager will coordinate and align with global counterparts and strategic account planning for key customers across North America.
The aim of the position is to manage projects coordination for new business developments including technical support, investment calculations as well as process definitions. Person on this position is responsible for new business technical assessment including risk and business processes establishment with growth as number one priority.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of quotation process for new businesses in EU region assuring:
- correct DL assumption (process timing calculations)
- operational and warehouse space, people, etc
- coordination of needed material pricing from suppliers
- start up/ ramp up assumptions with cooperation with operational team
- total costs preparation and P&L readiness
- Manages preparation of investment and needed technical / technological assessment for new projects / businesses - dependent on the Project scope and complexity
- Manages preparation of business process for new enquiries including layouts and business flows
- Prepares layouts for new buildings and it's technical requirements (assuring compliance with local law, company policies, ISO, GMP, FDA, others)
- Participation in meeting/review with new potential Customers
- Preparation and co-leading if necessary ODP review process for all new projects
- Management of data bases for new projects
- Preparing business risk assessment for new projects
- Provides technical support for new machines/ equipment tooling for new projects for existing Customers
- Full Project Management ownership for new businesses (new machines/new technologies/new sites)
- management of review process with Customer and internally on all levels in the organization
- project budget and project plan management
- assures TIM is used and followed when applicable
- proper escalation and reporting on deviations on all levels in organization (both for Customer and Internally)
- Participation in creation of startup readiness playbook for North America and Europe operations
- Active participant in Loss Analysis process across all sites in North America and Europe
- Active participant in Automation road map creation for given plants in North America and Europe
- Results reporting on weekly basis
- Management of costing and project management team
- Achieve/exceed annual growth objectives and performance goals, pricing target goals and forecast accuracy targets.
- Monitor the external contract manufacturing and packaging industry and keep up with changes, risks, and opportunities in the marketplace.
- Proactively drive business development activity including consultative solution development, RFP response, pricing development and win plans to secure customers business.
- Facilitate and attend plant tours/entertainment events.
- Secure data from Procurement, New Product Development, R&D and Planning for the development of proposals.
- Support account retention goals.
- Achieve successful new customer startups for all new customers and items in region.
- Contribute to and coordinate startup of new projects with all internal departments.
- Facilitate all communication with key stakeholders during startup of new projects/programs.
- Prepare and communicate timelines appropriately and determine areas of accountability for execution.
- Identify potential startup issues, develop resolution, and manage communicating that resolution internally and externally.
- Optimize use of customer reporting tools and proprietary systems
- Engage in strategic and tactical planning to drive achievement and customer sales.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in operational efficiencies, service levels, and operational points of difference both internally and with the customer.
- Facilitate internal communication with key internal department
- Facilitate questions/resolution, audits, and other sales related quality requests.
Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of Contract Manufacturing and/or Contract Packaging
- 5+ years of CPG/FMCG, Food & Beverage or Healthcare manufacturing or packaging
