Pay Rate: $31,200 - $33,290/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.

Required Documents Needed to Upload at Time of Application: Resume, transcripts and three professional references.

Reference check requirements: Three (3) professional references, two (2) of which should be former or current supervisors and (1) professional reference.

Personal references (friends, clergy, customers, relatives) are not considered acceptable references.

A professional reference such as a previous or current co-worker may be used as one of the references.

Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is to provide assistance with the enrollment process for incoming and returning students and their families, and to process all admissions documentation. Technical clerks also determine when a student is ready to register for classes and if the student is admissible to the College. The hours for this position are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday-Friday.

Essential Functions:

55% Process, evaluate and scan documents required for admission, including but not limited to applications for admission, transcripts from high schools and colleges, and standardized test scores. 

5% Work with the International Admissions Specialist to process documents for students attending on visa.  This requires correspondence with the student and evaluating international documents.

15% Determine residency status for applicants and interpret immunization records.

25% Assist colleagues in areas such as the Start Strong Center, Financial Aid, Site Campuses, and Advising with all admissions-related questions. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent. On-the–job training is provided. 
  • 2 years of office and/or customer service experience. Having higher education/Banner experience is a plus.

Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

Skills/Abilities:

Strong attention to detail.

The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and maintain organized records of applications, student information, and communications.

Effective written and verbal communication.

A good understanding of database management systems, and other software used in the admissions process to manage and track applications and data.

Solution finding and troubleshooting skills.

Able to engage in the college’s mission and values.

Physical Demands: The majority of the time the clerks are working at a desk on a computer or phone. They must be able to communicate with students, faculty and staff.  They must be able to hear to answer questions. The majority of the work is completed on the computer and working with paperwork.  They must be able to read and process transcripts and immunization records. Central heating and air conditioning are provided, the temperature is permanently set to a comfortable temperature. The work space is clean, with occasional dust. The lighting is bright, overhead industrial lighting.

Hazards: Standard office setting exposure.
