Intermountain Health is now hiring Registered Nurses to join our Critical Care Float at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado.

Platte Valley Hospital has been serving the Brighton community since 1960.  At Platte Valley Hospital, we’re proud to be a 98-bed, Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, delivering high-quality care as part of the Intermountain Health system.

As a Critical Care Float RN at Platte Valley, you'll provide life-saving care to patients with complex needs while working alongside an expert team committed to excellence, empathy, and community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity critical care environment
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care
• Serve as a resource and advocate for patients and their families during challenging health experiences
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and support unit-specific quality and safety initiatives
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands strong clinical skills, clear communication, and adaptability

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
• Ability to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 4 years of hire*
• Current Colorado RN license or a compact license with the ability to obtain a Colorado RN license
• Current BLS certification (AHA endorsed) or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire (with prior approval)
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, required
• ACLS certification required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• ACLS, NRP, or PALS certifications (as appropriate for the unit)
• Critical care experience in an acute care hospital
• National certification in critical care nursing (e.g., CCRN)

Posting Specifics:

• Location: Platte Valley Hospital, Brighton, Colorado
• Shift Details: Full Time Night shifts (shift differentials apply)
• Float Units: ED/ICU, MedSurg and Intermediate Care
• Relocation Assistance: May be available for qualified external candidate
• Float Differential : $7 Critical Care Float Differential

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
