School Security Officer (Ret./Active Law Enforcement preferred)

Job Summary:

Arrow Security is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as School Security Officers for the Syracuse School District. Must have prior School Security Officer experience. As a School Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the students, staff, and guests within the school district. This part time position requires individuals who are reliable, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and can present a professional appearance.

Essential Job Duties

Monitor and supervise metal detectors for all personnel entering and exiting the premises.

Serve as a School Security Officer, providing a welcoming and secure environment for students, staff, and guests within the Syracuse School District.

Maintain a vigilant presence, observing and reporting any suspicious activities or individuals to the appropriate authorities.

Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they adhere to the school district's security protocols and policies.

Provide directions and guidance to visitors, staff, and students regarding the appropriate locations within the school district.

Collaborate with other security personnel to ensure a coordinated response to any security-related incidents.

Be available for after school activities and maintaining flexibility in scheduling.

Prior Law Enforcement/Military preferred

Must have a broad knowledge of school safety and security procedures.

Ability to work effectively with campus-based administrators and staff.

Knowledge of security computer hardware and software programs related to closed circuit television, controlled access, emergency management, and visitor identification.

Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations and maintain and exhibit emotional control.

Must always present a well-groomed and professional appearance.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential for effectively interacting with students, staff, and guests.

Physical ability to walk and move from building to building throughout the school district as required.

Must have Valid NYS Security Guard License

Must have High School Diploma

Must previous Law Enforcement or Military Background

Compensation: Prevailing Wage pay and supplemental benefits totaling $24.92 payrate + $2.44 supplemental per hour which totals to $27.36.
