Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
The selected candidate for this position must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without employer assistance or sponsorship now or in the future. The university will not assist with any F-1 EADs, OPT, H1B, etc. Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing Required Education: Master of Science in Nursing Required Work Experience: Two years of RN clinical experience through clinical practice or other avenues. Required Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) License - State of Michigan.
Certification in CPR. Physical Demands:
5 years of clinical RN experience.
Two years of clinical/lab teaching experience.
Certification in nursing field of specialization. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Provide direct instruction and clinical supervision to students in the Pre-Licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program by teaching assigned laboratory and clinical sections and facilitating student learning in both simulated and clinical practice environments.
• Teach, supervise, and mentor students in hospitals, clinical sites and laboratory environments, providing oversight of direct patient care while fostering the development of clinical skills, critical thinking, clinical judgement, and professional nursing practice.
• Guide student learning by providing ongoing feedback, mentorship, and evaluation of performance in laboratory, hospital, and clinical settings.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction in the laboratory and clinical settings to reinforce course concepts, promote clinical reasoning and support the development of safe, competent nursing practice.
• Assess student learning through the administration and evaluation of clinical skills assessments, competency-based evaluations, clinical documentation, and observation to support the development of safe, competent nursing practice. process evaluations, and other competency-based measures.
• Support student learning by supervising patient care activities and guiding students in the application of the nursing process, clinical judgment, and evidence-based care planning.
• Deliver high-quality instruction and facilitate student learning in classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and online learning environments, as assigned.

FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Continuing Part-Time/Full-Time: Full-Time Union Group: N/A Term of Position: 12 Month At Will/Just Cause: At Will Summary of Position: The College of Health Professions invites applications for full-time, non-tenure-track clinical faculty positions to provide technical assistance and ongoing support for students across laboratories and clinical teaching, including oversight of direct patient care and experiential learning environments, for 30 hours per week. Responsibilities will extend beyond course instruction by an additional 10 hours per week to include student mentoring, one-on-one and small-group engagement, assessment activities, community and clinical partner engagement, travel associated with experiential sites, and curriculum continuity. These positions will also require some evening and weekend hours. These are 12-month positions with an anticipated start date of August 2026; however, this is an estimate and may be revised if needed.
