The Senior Director, Strategy & Business Development, Health System Services, is responsible for go-to-market strategy and product development offering by leveraging a portfolio of capabilities across the enterprise to maximize health system touch points and relationships. Evernorth Health System Services is comprised of three primary businesses (CuraScript Specialty Distribution, Verity Solutions, and our strategic partner, CarepathRx) as the foundation of the product and capabilities offered in the market. This leader will continually build on the existing product offering, refining the market strategy to maximize value. This role is highly cross-functional, requiring influential partnership with executive level business leaders and sales and account management leaders across Evernorth and Cigna, as well as core support functions, such as Finance, Technology and Legal. This role also requires a significant presence both internally and externally with health system customers and prospects, as a promoter, marketer and champion for Evernorth Health System Services.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for developing and executing our health system services product approach, and the development of new and existing health system customer relationships that exist across the enterprise.
- Responsible for customer pipeline development and management of customer opportunities for the health system services businesses, in coordinating with sales and account teams across Evernorth and Cigna, as well as the three business units represented by Evernorth Health System Services.
- Responsible for development and execution of the go-to-market strategy that combines the above into a cohesive health system offering for Evernorth.
- Responsible for executing strategies to ensure we realize the full value, and track value realization.
- Create business plans for new products and services detailing value realization for the organization as well as go-to-market strategies, marketing, brand positioning and timelines.
- Collaborate with sales leaders across the enterprise to identify strategies to target existing enterprise health system customers, attend pitch/sales meetings and enable future sales/pitch meetings for the health system services sales teams.
- Responsible for forming relationships with the CarepathRx leadership team, collaborating on our GTM offering inclusive of CarepathRx, coordinating cross-sell activity into the CarepathRx book of business for our enterprise businesses, ultimately driving synergy through these efforts.
- Serves as primary market strategist responsible for identifying new solutions, vendors, or markets that we should explore to expand and enhance the value to our health system services businesses.
Qualifications
- At least 12 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, product development and management, and/or business development within healthcare.
- Experience in 340b, specialty pharmacy, home infusion and specialty wholesale distribution preferred.
- Executive presence and exceptional communications skills
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree and/or MBA is preferred.
- Previous sales and/or account management experience is preferred.
- Deep understanding of the provider/health system landscape and market, including the top pain points and issues that providers/health systems face, their multiple interfaces with insurers and vendors.
- Ability to partner cross-functionally and influence to gain alignment from key stakeholders. Strong relationship building skills and the ability to interface at the exec level both internally and externally.
- Combination of strategic planning, product development and management, business development and process improvement experience.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables, manage to deadlines.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 168,400 - 280,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
